What to expect

Development reviews from birth

We will see you at your home between 10 days and 14 days after your baby is born. The next time we see you will be when your baby is around  6/8 weeks old, this will be at a clinic and you will be given the date and time by your Health Visitor.

As a new mother it is recommended that you see  your GP at approximately 6 weeks after you baby is born. At this appointment your GP will discuss the following with you – Contraception, sexual health, mental health, your emotional wellbeing along with anything else that is deemed important.

If you would like to have your baby weighed and ask for advice on routine issues such as introducing solids, sleeping or home safety, you can come to one of the Health Advice session in your area. Each session last for three hours.
